Snyu privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-04

Snyu is a moderation and community bot for two linked Discord servers, Mudae World and Rollsdae World; both official servers of the Mudae Discord application. It serves those two servers, and it is run exclusively by me, the bot owner. It is also present in a few private servers that exist only to host custom emoji, where nobody is in them but the bot and me.

Snyu stores what a feature needs to work, and deletes it once the feature stops needing it. Unless the table below says otherwise, nothing is kept for more than 180 days.

Who is responsible

Snyu is operated by me, a private individual, not a company. Contact details for privacy requests are at the bottom of this page.

What Snyu stores

Identity: Your Discord user ID, your username, and your avatar reference. This is how the bot knows who you are across its features.

Roles and duties: Which of the bot's own roles and moderation duties you hold in Mudae World and Rollsdae World. Snyu also keeps a list of the members of three Discord roles that it adds and removes in batch: the rolls resets ($rolls) role in Rollsdae World, the "Event Winner" role in Mudae World, and the "Mudae is up" role in Mudae World. Each line records the role, your user ID, the server, and the date you got it. It is removed when you lose the role.

Reports: If you send a report to the moderation team, the text you write, which team you sent it to, and the report's number. If you attach a text file it is read and becomes the body of your report. Other attachments are not passed on.

Character suggestion forms (UFGs): Forms posted in the #up-for-grabs channel are read and split into fields: character name, gender, roll type, series, image, source, and the optional note. These are kept in a searchable index, with the message's ID and date, and the author's user ID and username. The message itself is not kept.

Quest proofs: If you submit a proof for a quest, the link you give is stored, and anything you write beside it. Replying to a message records that message's link for you. The message itself is not copied, so a proof stops working if you delete what it points at.

Game records: Balances, bids, debts, auction history, rewards, and an audit log of changes to them. The game itself depends on these, so they are not seasonal. Bids are recorded against your account even when they are shown anonymously to other members. When a debt is paid, Snyu sees it in Mudae World Instance 1's trade log channels and clears the debt.

Game statistics: Counts of game actions: Mudae kakera reacts and spent Instance 2 rolls resets today, and counts of other game consumables as features are added. These counts come from the Mudae bots' messages in game channels. Each kakera react is logged to a private channel with a link to the message it came from.

Character ownership: When someone runs Mudae's main info character command in Instance 1, Snyu collects information on Mudae's reply, including who owned the character at that moment and the time it was checked at; it is a snapshot rather than a long-term record, and the recorded owner is deleted once the collected info is older than an hour.

Anti-spam codes: When an image is flagged as blocked, the bot stores a short code calculated from it, not the image itself, so the same image can be instantly recognised if it is posted again. The code is kept with the date and how many times it was caught. The code itself doesn't record who posted the image.

Moderation logs: When spam is detected, a report is posted in a private moderation channel. It displays the account's name (username and user ID) and shows what was spammed: the file's name or the first 120 characters of the message. When a message is edited, the previous and new text are sent to a private moderation log channel, restricted to a small number of highly trusted moderators or admins. A few commands are recorded to a private channel when they are used, so a moderator can see who submitted what to Snyu when it is text shared across all members or see who tried a command while it was on cooldown or see who tried to cheat a Snyu feature. When a player completes a step of Mudae's tutorial in Instance 2 that awards Mudae sphere minigames, a message mentioning the player is posted in a private moderation channel.

Moderation investigations: When a specific moderation case requires it, the bot reads a long span of the game bot's past messages about the players concerned and produces statistics from them. This only looks at the game bot's messages, never at conversations between members, and the working data is deleted once the case is closed.

Activity counts: Mudae World's game Instance 1 requires members to fit activity criteria over any two months. Snyu is not collecting anything for this at the moment, but will in the future. The details are just below the retention table.

What Snyu reads and does not keep

Snyu reads the messages posted in both servers to look for spam and scam images. It also reads members' messages to find its own commands, and some Mudae commands its features rely on, like $rolls. In the game channels, it also reads Mudae bots' messages, for the game features listed above. Everything it reads is handled in memory and discarded, except what is listed above.

Snyu does not read or store presence information, meaning your online status or what you are playing. Snyu does not keep a list of the servers' members either. When a feature needs a member, it looks up the member in question.

Message content is never used to train machine learning or AI models.

Nothing is sold, licensed, or shared with any third party, and there are no analytics services. Moderation output is only visible to the moderation team it concerns.

How long it is kept

Where a line says it's being built, the policy has been decided but the related code to enforce it isn't finished. The list just below the table details what is happening at the moment.

DataKept for
Identity, roles, game and economy records Your identity and profile data (ID, username, avatar reference, role and duty membership) are kept as long as you take part in the community. They are removed on request, or 90 days after you have left both Mudae World and Rollsdae World or deleted your Discord account. Your game records stay, because other members' history depends on them, but they no longer point to you: they are shown as user#N, a meaningless number outside Snyu. Three things keep your identity longer: an unpaid debt, for up to 180 days after you left, after which the debt and your identity are removed; a moderation record; and the record of a transfer to a new Discord account, for 180 days. This removal is being built, along with a periodic check asking Discord whether each member is still in either server. Today it is done when you ask. Game and economy records are kept while the game still needs them, whether another member depends on them or the game itself does. Some stay linked to you while you are still playing. Once a record is no longer needed, your identity is removed from it or it is deleted.
Report bodies 90 days, unless a moderator marks it as a case worth a lasting record. A shorter summary of who reported whom, when, and the conclusion is kept beyond that. Being built; today they are kept
Character suggestion forms (UFGs) The forms are stored as the feature's index. The link between a form and you is kept while you are in Mudae World or Rollsdae World, and removed 90 days after you have left both, or sooner if you ask. Only removal on request works at the moment; the automatic removal is being built.
Quest proofs In Instance 2, the season they belong to, plus 90 days. In Instance 1, 180 days. In practice they are manually deleted at every Instance 2 season end (cycles of 70 days)
Edited-message log 30 days. The cleanup runs once a day, so a message is deleted once it has passed 30 days, and nothing is kept past 31 days.
Deleted UFGs Purged 90 days after deletion. Being built; today a deleted form is simply deleted from the index on every regeneration
Activity counts While the activity rule needs them. Kept for 2 months, unless you are placed under an activity warning in which case your counts require longer scrutiny and are kept while that lasts, up to 180 days. Nothing is collected at the moment
Game statistics At most 90 days past the end of the season for Instance 2, and at most 180 days for Instance 1. Some are deleted sooner.
Moderation investigation data Deleted once the case is closed. Only the conclusion is kept
Roles given in batch Until you lose the role
Anti-spam codes While the blocklist uses them
Kakera react log 180 days. Being built; today the posts have no limit
Anti-spam reports, tutorial notices and the command log 180 days. Being built; today the posts have no limit
Backups A rolling window of 180 days. A deletion request reaches backups within that window

What is changing

Some of what is above is decided but not finished, and I would rather say so than claim it is already working. Here is where each one stands on 4 October 2026:

Your requests

You can ask for your data to be shown, corrected, anonymised, or deleted. Use the request form on this page, or the contact below. I handle them myself.

There are three exceptions. When a report concerns moderation of a member, the part still needed for moderation is kept (who reported whom, when, and the conclusion) and the rest is deleted. Game and economy records are kept while the game still needs them, whether another member depends on them or the game itself does, and some stay linked to you while you are still playing. Once a record is no longer needed, your identity comes off it or it is deleted. Your posts in a public channel are a separate matter as they belong to that channel, so you can ask to be anonymised on the bot's features while your messages remain where you posted them.

Deleting your data does not opt you out of the bot. If you carry on using it, the next feature that needs your ID and username will store them again.

Security

Snyu runs on a DigitalOcean server in London, United Kingdom. Its data is kept on storage that DigitalOcean encrypts. The data sits in local files that cannot be reached from the network. I am the only one with administrative access, using key-based authentication. Backups are encrypted on the server before they are sent to Backblaze, so Backblaze only holds the encrypted copy. The copies I use to build and test the bot are on my own computer, on an encrypted disk. DigitalOcean and Backblaze rent me the space and hold the data for me; neither is given the data for them to use for anything.

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which can see the IP address of anyone who visits it. None of Snyu's data is stored there. It stays on the server and the computer as described above.

If something goes wrong and data is exposed, affected members and Discord will be notified.

Age

Discord requires users to be at least 13, or older where local law says so. Snyu is not directed at anyone below that age.

Changes

This page will be updated when the bot's data practices change, and the date at the top will change with it.
